What is CBCT Tutor™ ?

Diagnostic Maxillo-Facial Imaging (DMFI) is able to offer services as personal consultants to your practice with extensive national and international expertise in iCAT™ use. As professional educators we have developed a comprehensive approach to instruction. Specifically we can assist you by in 3 areas:

1) TECHNICAL COMPETENCY

a) We provide personalized “clinician-oriented” training and instruction in the use of your iCAT™ including:

  • Selection of optimal scanning parameters to minimize patient dose,
  • Requirements of reporting for billing,
  • Optimizing image display for specfic procedures,
  • Development of customized protocol specific templates appropriate for your use (e.g. Implant / TMJ / Cephalometric / Pathology / Obstructive Sleep Apnea / Craniofacial Anomalies).

b) We can provide specific recommendations for scanning and instruction on the use of implant planning software in your practice including:

  • Simplant
  • Procera for NobelGuide
  • Osseoview
  • Virtual Implant Placement
  • I-Dent

c) We can also advise on resources and/or cost analysis for:

  • fabrication of biomodels and implant surgical stents,
  • construction of simulated conventional plane film projections (e.g. PA, Lateral Cephalometric, SMV, Panoramic) and, p
  • orthodontic / craniofacial analysis in both 2D and 3D

2) PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY

As Board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists we can provide you with an understanding of the fundamentals of Interpretation related to:

  • Understanding the morphology of the TMJ in health and disease
  • Sinus opacities - the significance of thickenings and growths
  • Jaw conditions - The importance of developing a differential diagnosis

3) MARKETING

Communication of your findings to patients and other professionals is pivotal to professional and commercial success. We will analyze your practice based on the feedback you give us and provide you with answeres relevant to you to such questions as:

  • Optimal Practice Promotion through patient interaction - What works, what doesn't!
  • Sharing the Information - What is the optimal media to distribute your images to professional colleagues or demonstrate to patients?
How do I enrol in CBCT Tutor™ ?

There are two ways to take advantage of CBCT Tutor™:

  1. "On the Job" - Dr. Farman and/or Dr. Scarfe travel to your practice and train you and your staff at your facility. Most practitioners and users prefer this option as there is no loss in revenue by attendance at a course in another state no travel expenses. DMFI can provide "chair side" assistance as patients are scanned, images formatted and reports recorded. In addition, training involves the practitioner or any other radiographer at no extra cost. We will also provide you with personalized instruction on CBCT interpretation.
  2. "At our Job" - Alternately, if you prefer, you and/or your staff can visit with DMFI at our facility in Louisville, Kentucky. We can provide you with instruction on performing CBCT scans and personalized instruction on CBCT interpretation with unlimited examples of patholgy to assist you in developing your interpretive skills.

If you choose either option, a specific al a carte direct, one-on-one, personalized instructional program is developed for your imaging needs rather than generic non-specific, unguided classroom attendance.
